Edward is currently working on an a capella version of Gaia, and has just
completed a revision of his Cello Concerto of 1993.

He is currently working on a new major BBC project in association with The
National Portrait Gallery in London. This will entail a new work for the BBC
Singers and deal with 24 chosen portraits on exhibition in the NPG. Look for
more details on this major new venture towards the end of this year.

The first performance of Cowie's 'Gaia' was a great success. It received critical
acclaim from composers, conductors and music promoters. The first broadcast
of the piece is scheduled for BBC Radio 3 on April 19th, at 2245.

Cowie also made a 'hit' at his presentation for the Annual Conference of the
RSPB at York University. This event marked the formal launch and publication of
his book 'Birds Talk' by the newly established Birds Talk Press. The book is selling
very well, and looks to be set to become a 'best-seller' for nature-books for children
and nature lovers of all ages.
