Music

For more than thirty years, Cowie has worked professionally as a composer,
conductor and pianist. His compositions have evolved always from a close
association with the living world in general and natural sound in particular.
It's quite impossible to describe the sound of his music in words. The music
is often complex but always 'threaded' with tonal harmonies and a strong
melodic content. Of all the instrumental genres in which he works, his
greatest love remains for the human voice. Of more than 60 published
compositions, the vast majority are inspired by landscapes and the
sounding creatures that inhabit them.
