A great deal of Cowie's working life has been spent as a teacher. His
interests in the relationship(s) between the Arts and Natural Sciences
has permeated all his creative work and much of his teaching. His
infectious style of charismatic teaching has now spilled-over into his
writings as an author. The publication of his first book, Birds Talk, has
signalled a significant outpouring of writings for both young people and
nature-lovers of all ages. His style is direct and vivid; always honestly
directed from a life of intense study and reflection into and on the forces
of Nature.
