More Birds Talk (in preparation)
Another 24 common British and European birds are 'interviewed' by
'Edward the Hooman'. Each bird describes its life and habits in a series
of 'birdie' autobiographical sketches. When finished this will be a companion
book to the already published Birds Talk. A third book, Still More Birds Talk
is in the research phase.
Mammals Talk (in preparation)
The 'Birdograph' (used to translate Birdish into English in the Bird's Talk
series) also works for mammals! 24 British mammals have their own growl,
bark, whistle, whinny, scream, squeak and grunt about their daily lives in a
British landscape.
The Voices of Gaia (in preparation)
The universe if full of vibrating 'things' and probably always has been; even
before Big Bang. This book traces the evolution of natural sound from Big
Bang to the present day. It moves from the 'music' of the stars and planets,
to the sounds of the oceans, volcanoes and winds. Then on through the
whole 'orchestra' of micro-organisms; fish; molluscs; insects; birds and
mammals. Throughout, the author encourages (and teaches) the reader to
use the act of drawing (mark-making) to represent sound in visual form.
